KU Leuven
Founded in 1425, KU Leuven is not only the oldest but also the most innovative university in Europe (Reuters). With its 58,000 students and more than 20,000 employees, it is also the largest university in Belgium. Fifteen faculties offer undergraduate and graduate programs at 10 locations in Flanders. The different emphases and approaches on the campuses provide a wide variety of educational offerings. The programs are based on the research of more than 7,000 scientists. As a co-founder of the League of European Research Universities (LERU), KU Leuven is a leading research institution both nationally and internationally.
reMYND
reMYND is a biotech company developing treatments for Alzheimer’s, Huntington's, epilepsy and other diseases caused by cellular dysfunction. It is backed by a proprietary drug discovery platform, which enables the identification of novel mechanisms-of-action, targets and first-in-class small molecules.
imec
imec was founded in 1984 as an independent research center for micro- and later nanoelectronics. The goal is to bundle all academic knowledge on chip technology in Flanders. Because that technology is the engine for the third industrial revolution - and thus for the lasting prosperity of the region. Since 2016, iMinds (formerly IBBT), Flanders' strategic research center in the field of digital innovation, has also been part of imec. As a result, today at imec you will find both soft- and hardware under one roof.
